Three popular geek interests combine in one App Store release today. Take your pick of which one you like best - webcomics; gamebooks; or Wesley Crusher.

Trial of the Clone is a choose-your-own-path gamebook by Zach Weinersmith, the creator of the webcomic SMBC. It was Kickstarted to tremendous success and released earlier this year. The story has players in the role of a clone raised by the mysterious Silene Monks, who spend a lot of time playing games instead of guarding the galaxy. Your adventures tend to result in a lot of death.

The book is now available as an app thanks to Fighting Fantasy developer Tin Man Games, and Wil Wheaton provides optional narration. It has all the usual bells and whistles - automated character sheet, links, bookmarks and dice. Apparently, there are more deaths in the app than the dead tree version.

Trial of the Clone is available to download from the iOS App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore and Nook Apps, and goes for $4/AU$4.50(/£2.50/€3.60.
