Prey trademarks extended

Thursday, 11th April 2013 01:59 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Bethesda parent company Zenimax has filed three trademark extension applications related to Prey, according to Gamespot. Just as a reminder, trademark extensions are due when they’re due, so this doesn’t actually mean we’ll find out anything about the long-silent Prey 2 soon – although Bethesda has promised to make some more noise about upcoming releases soon.

Thanks, Blue’s News.

Here’s my guess on where Prey 2 is at; most likely being prepped as a next-gen release (or cross gen release, considering the initial low adoption rate at the beginning of each new console cycle), that or this is still lost in a Madison, WI-besed cheese factory called limbo between Human Head and Bethesda. All I know is, would really like to see something new on this soon. This, and Fallout 4.

I hope it’s a next-gen release, it looks really interesting. I like the Blade Runner-Star Wars Underground-Bounty Hunter mix. The few trailers released I really liked.

So you’re saying we should get our hopes up but bury them, deep down.

Companies do this all the time even if they aren’t doing anything with the trademark or brand because its cheap to renew.
