First things first is it me or does that picture look weird? I expected Soul Sacrifice to be out of the top 20 this week, but it has sold overall extremely well in Japan, roll on May 3rd. Hardware sales are ok barring wii and Xbox360.

The amazing part is 2 of the top 10 sales were released in 2012. The question is are those good games or is the state of the releases lately dismal?

So Pachter thinks the Xbox 720 is going to win next generation? Right… with it’s always online DRM and TV tuner crap, nobody in Japan is going to buy that, LOOK at the Xbox 360 sales. They shouldn’t even chart it. The DS sells more on a week to week basis.

Japan is a very small market compared to North America and Europe, so there really isn’t any validity in claiming that the 360′s poor sales in that region would prevent the 720 from “winning” the next gen. Even the PS3 was far more successful in NA and Europe than it was in Japan.
