Halo 3: ODST – Campaign Edition joins a list of five new games hitting Xbox Live’s games on demand service from today. Bungie’s spin-off won’t feature multiplayer however. Boo.

Destructoid reports that Halo 3: ODST joins Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, and Power Rangers Super Samurai, today, while X-Men: The Official Game and Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard will drop next week.

You can check out Halo 3: ODST – Campaign Edition over on Xbox Live Marketplace now. It costs $14.99.

I think it’s just missing the Halo 3 multiplayer Disc, It should still have Firefight mode.

GoD is restricted (technically, I think) to single-disc games. It’s a shame they never figured out how to deal with multiple disc images in one game.

The Halo 3: ODST physical retail edition contained 2 discs, but there is a major difference between it and other multi-disc games: each disc is a different game.

Disc 1 boots up “Halo 3: ODST”. This contains the Campaign, Firefight, and Theater modes for ODST.

Disc 2 boots up “Halo 3″. This contains Multiplayer and Theater modes, as well as all 24 adversarial multiplayer maps.

This Games on Demand version of ODST is only the first disc. If you want to play Halo 3 Multiplayer, you can purchase the Games on Demand version of Halo 3, along with the Legendary, Mythic, and Mythic II Map Packs, and you can download Cold Storage and the Heroic Map Pack for free to have feature parity with the retail release of ODST thru Games on Demand.

This is a first party game what took them so long to make this available for download? Insane and who would buy this without multiplayer thats retarded. I would love to select a Halo game on my HDD and jump into MP without swapping disk out the drive. Have they not seen what SONY did with KZ3 multiplayer only download?

I swear this company just wants to fuck its loyal consumers and who’s to say this download will even work on the nextbox if you buy it? I’m not buying anymore downloadable crap unless it can work on my Vita and the PS4 in the future.
