GTA 5 cover mural: Rockstar publishes ‘making-of’ photos

Tuesday, 9th April 2013 11:26 GMT By Dave Cook

Grand Theft Auto 5 had a cover reveal last week, courtesy of a Rockstar Games-commissioned mural painted in Manhattan’s Chelsea district. The publisher has now published a slideshow that shows the mural being painted.

You can watch the slideshow over at the official Rockstar Games newswire blog here.

If – for some reason – you haven’t seen the cover yet, you can check it out here.

We’ve also got a barrage of new GTA 5 screens that show mad stunts, mini-guns that’d make Jesse Ventura blush and more.

I think the same could be said about so many other games. GTA IS about the open world, the atmosphere, the details, the story, the characters and the possibilities. GTA III was huge when it came out, Vice City added to it with great fun and variety in missions and new vehicles. San Andreas added even more features, weapons, vehicles and variety in missions. Then came GTA IV and it was stripped of the many fun things from San Andreas. Still a damn good game, but at times it felt too limited.

Now in GTA V we are getting the much needed change and that is multiple protagonists. I applaud Rockstar for actually choosing this, cause it takes balls to make such a change to such a huge franchise. My hope and expectation is that this will make for even more replay value and variety in missions. Either way…GTA are the only games i can just walk/drive around in for hours and not doing anything, just taking in the atmosphere, checking out the crazy attention to details and all that. So many players don’t see the details because they only rush through the missions. When GTA V comes out…i’m just gonna grab that bicycle and just ride around, i’m gonna check out the countryside and just mess around. GTA is one of the big reasons i love gaming.

So PS3fanboy…i couldn’t disagree more with you.

no doubt the gta3 was huge when it was new, but then it was just the same old same after that…

    then saint row2 arrived…

the open world, the better atmosphere, more details, better story, better characters, more possibilities and the fun was back again.. with saint row3 released it added even more features, weapons, vehicles, variety in missions and even more craziness and fun. gta4 just lacked it all, now saint row4 is coming and it bring it once again but less dildos wackiness. but more saint row2 fun with the humor of saint row3. it is a win win this time. after gta4, gta just become a name of the old. gta is done bring on the new fresh saint row4 i say.

Ok… didn’t just say that….did you? The characters and story are ridiculous in Saints Row. Some may find them funny but they have absolutely nothing on Rockstar’s characters. Take GTA IV’s worst developed character and he/she’s still better than any SR character. You can say what you want about Rockstar, but if they get one thing right always it’s awesome, funny and memorable characters.

I’m sorry but Saints Row is a joke compared to GTA. The open world, atmosphere, attention to detail and story in GTA games are worlds apat from SR. I know we are all entitled to our own opinion, but you did not just say that SR has better detail. If you did, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Hate the games or love the game, GTA IV is ridiculously detailed. Years after its release and i still encounter new things that i had not seen before. Small things like..a mailman really going from house to house, a dude working on a telephone pole. The things pedestrians just say when you walk past them, really reacting to you if you bump into them. It even goes as far as some types actually instigating you and eventually wanting to fight you.

If GTA and Saints Row were movies. It would be Michael Bay that made SR and Martin Scorsese GTA. It’s just that simple.

GTA bores the shit out of me, and I find the vehicle handling beyond awful.

SR however, I found fun from start to finish.

People have different opinions, get over it.

Having said that, ps3fanboy is a troll alt account created purely to disrupt, and does not qualify as a person with a valid opinion, so feel free to tell him he is wrong. :D
