Fast & Furious: Showdown set for May release

Activision has confirmed the existence of Fast & Furious: Showdown, promoting Fast & Furious 6.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 offering is, of course, a racer. Its key conceit appears to be that you can switch between roles – driver, gunman, tactician and daredevil.

Showdown promises “some of the hottest vehicles and race across epic locations around the globe”, and the chance to build and modify vehicles with upgrades and performance perks.

It boasts two-player co-op, and a Challenge Mode with leaderboard support.

Fast & Furious: Showdown is due on May 22 ahead of the movie’s June 6 release; it’s not clear if it’s downloadable or headed to retail. So now you know. Have exactly three screens:
