Fast & Furious: Showdown set for May release

Activision has confirmed the existence of Fast & Furious: Showdown, promoting Fast & Furious 6.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 offering is, of course, a racer. Its key conceit appears to be that you can switch between roles – driver, gunman, tactician and daredevil.

Showdown promises “some of the hottest vehicles and race across epic locations around the globe”, and the chance to build and modify vehicles with upgrades and performance perks.

It boasts two-player co-op, and a Challenge Mode with leaderboard support.

Fast & Furious: Showdown is due on May 22 ahead of the movie’s June 6 release; it’s not clear if it’s downloadable or headed to retail. So now you know. Have exactly three screens:

Is it bad if I say this sure looks like a PS2 game? Then again, it is a downloadable title.

@1 actually, reading the PR again, I’m not sure it isn’t coming to retail. I’ve edited the article.

If you think that these sort of graphics were possible on a PS2 then you have a very obscure memory of the past. That being said I’m not saying these are good graphics or anything but they aren’t terrible, I’m still excited to see what this game has to offer, although it’ll most likely fall short of what the game could have been, damn Activision.
