Beyond: Two Souls only "a little bit more expensive" than Heavy Rain

Beyond: Two Souls appears to have incredible production values, but Quantic Dream boss David Cage says it's got quite a modest budget.

"I don't know if the budget is public but it's been a very, very reasonable price," Cage told CVG.

"We do very complex games, but I don't think they're very expensive compared to others out there."

Cage said Beyond: two Souls is "a little bit more expensive" than Heavy Rain was. Sony has not released details of either game's budget, but Cage said despite the rebuilt engine and Hollywood talent, Quantic Dream doesn't run up a massive bill due to sensible business practices.

"The project is cheaper because we've got better at what we do. We're very tools-centric and we pay close attention to our costs. We don't do anything crazy with the finances, we pay correctly but we don't have sports cars, boats or the rest of it. We run the company very seriously," he said.

Beyond: Two Souls is a PlayStation 3 exclusive due in October.
