Harmonix working on three “magic” projects, says venture capitalist

Thursday, 28th March 2013 11:05 GMT By Dave Cook

Harmonix is currently working on three projects that each deal with ‘different [human-computer interaction] paradigms’, according to venture capitalist and MD of the Foundry Group Brad Feld. The games have received the backing of Feld, who has now joined the Harmonix board after seeing the games again recently. He’s very excited about the projects.

Feld is one of four managing directors of the Foundry Group, which has venture capital funds of $225 million and helps to give software start-ups a boost. He is now working with Harmonix to help support all three of its projects.

Could one of the projects be the mysterious “Chroma” that Harmonix trademarked last year? It’s said to be a shooter.

Writing on his personal blog, Feld said that Harmonix co-founders Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy showcased all three projects to him and that he was blown away by what he saw.

“Each addressed a different [human-computer interaction] paradigm,” Feld wrote, “each was stunningly envisioned, and each was magic, even in its rough form. Earlier this year I saw each game again, in a more advanced form. And I was completely and totally blown away – literally bouncing in my seat as I saw them demoed.

“It’s an honour to be working with two entrepreneurs who are so incredibly passionate and dedicated to their craft. They’ve built, over a long period of time, a team that has created magical games not just once, but again and again. And they continue to push the boundaries of human-computer interaction in a way that impacts millions of people.”
