Creative Assembly making free-to-play Total War MOBA

Thursday, 28th March 2013 19:41 GMT By Phil Owen

We knew Creative Assembly was preparing something interesting to reveal at GDC, and it turns out that thing is Total War: Arena. It’s a team-based combination of MOBA and real-time strategy, and it will be free-to-play, and you can sign up for info on the closed beta now. And that’s what we know today.

Thanks, Eurogamer

@2 You’d have to be a complete idiot to understand them. So, rejoice that you don’t! :)

@6 Yes. A tactical team based game clearly has no value, while the mindless snoozefest that is CoD does.

Won’t be playing this game. I don’t like MOBAs and there are like 50 MOBAs that come out every year. Only LOL and DOTA will hold the seats.

Games industry is like a teenager. It goes through one phase after another. Now EVERYONE is in the MOBA phase with a dash of F2P.
