    @Dave,
    I would advise taking the list from Gematsu, they have the entire top 20.

    Great numbers overall, glad to see Vita holding its sales numbers and OP vita has exceeded my expectations.

    3DS still king, but Vita looking healthy. WiiU sales are just ….

    It’s a surprise to see the chart mixed with 3DS, Vita, PS3 & PSP titles, usually it’s dominated by 3DS titles.

    Impressive all round 3DS is still boss, PlayStation Platforms are healthy (Although i fear it might be temporary) but the Wii U and the Xbox360 sales are just Average and downright embarrassing respectively.

    I wouldn’t call the Wii U a ‘flop’ an increase in sales without a notable title to warrant that increase isn’t a flop, it’s struggling to find a foothold, but there’s simply no games….. ‘Yet’

    Yeah, I wouldn’t call the Wii U a flop, and not put the Vita in the same category. The Wii U just needs some more games, and the sales will go up.

    It’s the same concept. Vita got some decent releases and started selling, Wii U will do the same, Nintendo do well in their homeland eventually.

    wow they must be really starved for games on the 3ds over there when a remake of the old game get 1 place.

  12. PeekyChew

    @11 It isn’t a remake.

    Anyway, nice to finally see the Vita doing well. It’ll push Nintendo to improve the 3DS harder and not just become complacent like they did with the Wii in it’s last few years.

    WiiU faces an identity problem. And no killer games of course.

    The 3DS still selling almost as much as all 3 of the Sony machines & 360 combined doesn’t mean anything then? lol :) okay then…

    I think the 3DS was made for about $100 in launch, the mark up now must be even higher.

    Then Pokemon X & Y etc…

    Nintendo don’t even need a home console but I’m sure the Wii U will pick up enough to make it a worthwhile venture. Obviously it’s only going to be for exclusives though.

    Sony platforms have 75% of top 20 games, and hardware has a 55% Ninty and 45% Sony division. And I heard morons who know shit about Japanese market saying here Ninty rules Japan. Sony and Ninty evenly split Jp market.
    Funny seeing many of them ignoring weekly charts.
    @Legend,
    No, it wont. Problem is that Ninty has only one viable platform right now, while Sony has 3. PS3, PSP and Vita have more than 50 games left for launch this year, with 3DS a bit behind at 40 odd. You can expect Sony to lead in software for a few weeks/months. Hardware will be an even split.

    @16,
    You are welcome. You remember what I said about that guy with “tattoo” comment, he told me enthusiastically at the start of the year that Ninty rules Japan. And now he and his pals are nowhere to be seen. Pathetic people, is it that hard to understand that the both companies are Japanese and share lead? Guess they need something to bolster their fanboy ego.
    Sorry for the rant :P

    @18

    So it’s about 60 / 40 in Nintendos favour in Japan at the moment?

    How is the PS4 offset dev costs going to compare considering all Nintendo consoles are already released?

    Just out of interest, is the DSXL / DS discontinued in Japan now? How comes they don’t add it to the chart like the PSP or does it literally sell 0 consoles a week?

    Also, how much profit do Sony make on each console compared to Nintendo? You seem to have a lot of figures, it would be good to know how long it takes Sony to start making profit, especially after the ’10 year cycle’ of PS3 and the Vita’s cost on launch.
