Diablo 3 item duping remedied by new Blizzard policy

Diablo 3 item duping has been culled by developer Blizzard. It's a process that saw players giving items to a mate and then having tech support roll back their character to spawn the items over and over again. No more, however.

A post on the Diablo 3 forums states that items and gear are now bound to a player's account whenever they have their hero rolled back, meaning any offloaded loot will be tethered to that player only.

The change in policy will come into effect from April 2. The post stated, "Last December, we made some changes to our regional account rollback policy for players in our Asia region. We implemented this update to protect the in-game economy from the noted rise of false compromised account claims by players attempting to gain duplicate items.

"This policy has proven very effective in helping reduce the number of duplicate items in the game while still allowing us to assist legitimately compromised players, and now we’re ready to roll it out for our Americas and European regions."

So there we go. Now the old excuse "I was just holding it for a friend" no longer cuts it in Diablo 3.
