Wii Mini launch in UK met with little consumer interest, according to retailers
Wii Mini is of little interest to UK gamers, according to one of GAME’s flagship stores.

Speaking with TechRadar, the representative said consumers have shown no interest in acquiring the bare bones system which launched yesterday in the region, despite pre-orders being available since it was announced.
“We’ve pretty much had nothing. None at all,” said the rep, adding that the store in question wasn’t even stocking the system on site.
HMV also made the decision not to stock the console, due to interest being “extremely minimal.” If the demand takes an upswing, it will reconsider though, the HMV representative said.
Wii Mini was originally announced as an exclusive to Canada, and proved to be decently popular since its December 2012 release – it sold 35,700 units as of January 31.
Thanks, Nintendo Life.

This has gotta be the most pointless piece of crap ever released, you can get a second hand Wii that let’s you access the Internet for about £30 if you shop around.
The joke is, it’s called Wii Mini, and it’s pretty much the same size…
If it had been the size of Raspberry Pi and about £50, maybe it would have been more interesting.

@1 How do you fit a Wii Disc on a Raspberry Pi sized Wii Mini? Just glueing it together won’t help
However, it just looks terrible and the money would be better invested in Wii U hardware…

They should market this for territories with low to none internet connections, not the freakin UK and Canada.

I love Nintendo but this console was utterly pointless.

Well, maybe abit bigger than raspberry Pi, maybe a Sony Disc man sized console makes more sense!

Absolutely nothing. NOTHING makes sense about this thing. It’s not even smaller than a normal Wii. Also, who are they trying to sell this to?
Really, think about it, the whole Wii-mania has happened. Basically every family has one. And if you wanted one by now you would have bought it allready… I just fail to understand this thing. WHY NINTENDO. WHY.
