Wii Mini launch in UK met with little consumer interest, according to retailers

Wii Mini is of little interest to UK gamers, according to one of GAME's flagship stores.

Speaking with TechRadar, the representative said consumers have shown no interest in acquiring the bare bones system which launched yesterday in the region, despite pre-orders being available since it was announced.

"We've pretty much had nothing. None at all," said the rep, adding that the store in question wasn't even stocking the system on site.

HMV also made the decision not to stock the console, due to interest being "extremely minimal." If the demand takes an upswing, it will reconsider though, the HMV representative said.

Wii Mini was originally announced as an exclusive to Canada, and proved to be decently popular since its December 2012 release - it sold 35,700 units as of January 31.
