Microsoft halts 'Halo 3 on PC' rumours after AMD discovery

Microsoft has put to bed rumours that Halo 3 is coming to PC once and for all. Fresh speculation began after the latest batch of AMD drivers made mention to Bungie's shooter, but the publisher want all rumours to cease.

Speaking with Eurogamer, a Microsoft rep simply said in a statement, "We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam, nor do we currently have plans to release a PC version of Halo 3."

It still begs the question as to why the drivers made mention of the game to begin with, but it may have just been wishful thinking on AMD's part. The finding follows Halo 3's appearance among Steam registry files, suggesting the game was going to appear on Valve's store-front.

But we've heard nothing more since.

Still, what do you think?
