SteamWorld Dig: “hardcore platform mining adventure” heading to 3DS eShop this year

SteamWorld Dig is the spiritual successor to Image & Form’s quirky download game SteamWorld: Tower Defense. The studio describes it as a “hardcore platform mining adventure”, and it’s out on the 3DS eShop later this year.

The studio opened a SteamWorld Dig hub on its site, brimming with fresh information. You play as a steam-operated mining bot called Rusty, as you explore a post-apocalyptic Old West setting.

It all looks rather lovely too, sort of a mix between Rick Dangerous and Spelunky with a Fallout twist. check it out above.
