Criterion student open day accepting applications now

Need For Speed: Most Wanted developer Criterion Games is holding a student game jam on April 11, that will see final year A-level and first year university students working together to make a fully functional game prototype. The team is accepting applications now.

GI.biz reports that the April 11 event will last a day, but that participants can also win a follow-up week long experience at the studio during the summer.

Applicants must apply for one of the 30 available slots before March 22, over at the official registration page.

Senior development director at Criterion Alan McDairmant told the site, "Criterion continues to focus on hiring graduates. We've had great success bringing in young talented people with a fresh point of view, a hunger to learn and the drive to make a difference. In fact a number of Criterion leads joined the studio as graduates. The Open Day is another example of our continued commitment to invest and show."

What do you think of the above? Should more studios be doing this to help graduates experience a studio environment? Let us know below.
