Anderson, Jovovich confirmed for new Resident Evil film

First Showing reports series director Paul W.S. Anderson and star Milla Jovovich have both been confirmed for the new Resident Evil film, currently languishing without a subtitle under the codename Resident Evil 6. It’s expected to tie up the events of the last two films, forming a second trilogy. Shooting will begin in northern autumn, and special effects will be handled by long-time Anderson collaborator Mr X.

Thanks, Bloody Disgusting.

Yeah… the first Resident evil at most was just “OKAY!”
why do these garbage movies keep selling? Its all about action, with the STUPIDEST story lines.
“Lets go from point A to point B! Kick that dog with a flip kick, and we’ll slo-mo it! heh, heh, pure genius! They’ll never see it coming.” -Director
What ever happened to horror… bleh! When you can’t be creative just go the easy way out, and settle for action!

These movies stopped being about anything other than “look how hot my wife looks in a tight leather outfit!” long time ago. Anderson isn’t even trying anymore.

Considering some of the games coming out both within the Resident Evil series and starring female protagonists in general, and the positive reception in each situation, I find it hard to say this film series deserves any hatred. Hating on this film series while praising games that do the exact same things or worse is pretty hypocritical.

Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t personally liked the film series since the second film. But if we compare it to trends of what’s popular with both filmgoers and video game consumers today, then aside from Alice not acting scared and weak all the time, this film series fits our current culture perfectly.

If you, people think the RE Movies are boring, stupid, lame etc..
Why do you watch them. If they sell it’s because the movies got their own fans, people who don’t even play the RE games. The movies are a total success, it doesn’t matter if you like them or not. You’ve watched them, and you will go watch the next one coming up. So, stop talking shit, and enjoy the movies. BTW, I can’t wait for the new RE7!!
