Persona 4 Arena is “looking at a May release” in Europe

Wednesday, 13th March 2013 17:21 GMT By Nick Akerman

Persona 4 Arena may have zoned in on its European release date. Possibly. In an update on the Persona Europe Facebook page, publisher Zen United announced the Xbox 360 version is going through Microsoft’s submission process.

Discussing the possibility of the game actually coming out, Zen wrote:

“Though dependent on when it passes, of course – I think it’s realistic for me to say we’re looking at a May release.”

Nothing concrete, but European players wanting to try the game might have something to run with. Atlus’ decision to region-lock the original code has proven controversial, leaving many consumers angered by the game’s non-appearance.

A May 2013 release means European hopefuls will have waited a year longer than their Japanese and American counterparts. Are you still willing to buy?

Thanks, Eurogamer.

I stopped giving a fuck about this game a long time ago.
Unless it will have a budget price like Anarchy reigns i wont be buying it until it hits the bargain bin. The online community will be DOA anyway.

Thanks for nothing Atlus. And thanks for all you bullshit too.

Considering how long this has taken to come out, if Persona 5 comes out for PS3 tomorrow in the states and Japan, you guys will probably get it in 2015.

Can VG247 find out just what the hell went wrong here?

Atlus didn’t fund the European release; it doesn’t have a European presence.

The EU release is being handled by Zen. It’s a small, scrappy publisher doing its best to get the game to you when nobody else would. Localisation and certification is expensive and slow. It would be better for Zen to have it out faster, too; it’s not trying to screw you over.

Damn it, oh well. I’m going to back to pointing fingers at EA.

@7 It was Atlus who region locked the game out of pure greed and from what i heard Atlus even banned EU IP’s from theis forums these days.

Also what localization? No additional languages will be added to save time. The reason we are waiting so long is because Atlus and Arc are dragging their feet with supplying PAL builds to Zen.

The only thing we can fault Zen for is their horrible PR.
