Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has announced a new Flipnote Studio animation program for the 3DS.
Flipnote Studio 3D will be made available as a download, it was confirmed in the latest Nintendo Direct video. As reported by Polygon, the software will support stereoscopic 3D images with up to three layers of depth. Designers can now use six colours in their animations and share any creation via AVI or GIF format.
Japanese users will be able to share their art with friends through the 3DS for free. Nintendo is set to offer a 30-day free trial for those who want to post on the Hatena World Flipnote Gallery community, and charge a small fee thereafter.
