PlayStation 4 ad tops YouTube charts for February

According to the Think with Google blog, the first PlayStation 4 ad totted up over 26 million views last month. Despite launching close to the end of the month, on February 20, it’s the most-viewed ad uploaded to YouTube for February, beating out a number of viral contenders like the Oreo whisper fight and Pepsi’s Harlem Shake effort. An excellent result for PlayStation’s new agency, then. See the ad for yourself through the break.

    There’s nothing that booming, choir-filled soundtrack can’t make epic. You could play it to a multi-angle/panning/zooming shot of a pile of turd*, and it would still be pretty epic.

    *Not to be construed in any way as a mockery of the PS4. :)

    @Brenna,
    One correction in the article, this ad was made by Deutsch Inc., which is the old media agency that Sony had contact with, not BBH and Carat, which are the current promoters of PS brand.
    Still great job, Sony couldn’t beat M$ is cash spent for marketing, so this extra exposure helps them a lot.
