Gears of War: Judgment environments drew on urban ruin references

In a studio tour video introducing Gears of War: Judgment developer People Can Fly, the team revealed that a photography shoot at an abandoned warehouse inspired the game's palette. Environmental concepts do indeed show a slightly more colourful take on the usual gritty mud-on-mud look shooters are apparently stuck with; there's also some snippets of new footage and a pretty great kitchen, so check out the full video through the break.

Gears of War: Judgment is due on March 19 in the US and Australia, and March 22 in Europe, exclusively for Xbox 360.
