Tomb Raider: Caves & Cliffs DLC is Xbox 360 timed-exclusive

Tomb Raider’s first piece of multiplayer DLC, dubbed ‘Caves & Cliffs’, is heading to Xbox 360 on March 19 as a timed-exclusive. PC and PS3 owners will have to wait a while longer for the content.

A post on the Tomb Raider blog states that the DLC adds three new maps into the mix across all multiplayer modes, and will cost 400 Microsoft Points.

The maps are Scavenger Caverns, Cliff Shantytown and Burning Village. Here’s a pair of images for you to check out ahead of release:

Thanks Eurogamer

Are the future Tomb Raider DLCs also timed-exclusives?

This was a waste of money MS…..the multiplayer is not good at all. But the single player is giving uncharted a run for its money.

Console with worst 1st party portfolio desperately needs 3rd party time exclusives….yea this is getting old. I won’t be buying this game until I find it for $15 brand new. I refuse to support companies who give exclusive content to the 360 when the PS3 is way more of a user friendly piece of consumer tech.

Tomb Raider singleplayer is weak compared to Uncharted games.

The start of the game was good, but after 2 hours it’s just bland TPS.

@6 Load of sh*t.

The single player is just as good if not better than Uncharted. Can’t wait to see what they do with the next game.

@8, Then the first uncharted maybe. It is probably better, but everything else just nothing special compared to Uncharted 2 or 3.

AI is weaker, storytelling is weak, characters are bland as F, Lara Croft is a drama queen, worse graphics and art-style.
Tombs are very interesting but there are not a lot of them. Multiplayer is worse then in Uncharted game too.
Japanese island overall is weaker then locations that were in Uncharted games.

Overall It’s a decent game but nothing spectacular.

Oh yeah and game is too freakin easy. I’m playing on the hardest difficulty with mouse and Keyboard. So easy.

TRESSFX feature is super retarded btw. Lara’s hair is unrealistic and while your hair is amazing everyone else is the same not to mention that playing with TressFX you get a horrible performance if your videocard is not the latest Nvidia or 7000 series AMD.

@5 That reasoning makes no sense. Because DLC for the worst part of the game is exclusive to Xbox you won’t purchase the main game even though it’s a fantastic game? Don’t buy DLC for tacked on multiplayer anyways. Show them that they’re wasting their time with it.

Stop worrying about stupid console politic bullshit, and just fucking play games.

@9

TRESSFX is not worth the frame hits. Just another gimmick from GPU manufacturers.

@10, TRESSFX overall is a stupid feature in Tomb Raider. Lara croft hair is decent and everyone else hair is not. No point in TRESSFX at all, yeah.

yeah? Sometimes I really hate Microsoft… been thinking about trading in the system and the games… nothing really there for me anymore. 343 ruined Halo… yeah I said it. Get over it! Halo is now call of duty with some form of shields… bleh!

Stupidly early for dlc of this sort. You should be encouraging the map not dividing it.

Fucking twats at Microsoft. I’m sorry. But who do they think they’re actually helping with this?
They’ve got previous with it, too – and it WASN’T timed DLC…In the end, even on the reissue/GOTY versions NO other platform got that Underworld content.

Tomb raider, one of the finest single player franchises to have existed, and so begins the talk of downloadable content.
Guaranteed to be online multiplayer only. Its cheap, its easy, you know the script, a few new maps, some new skins, a weapon upgrade here and there, all probably developed along side the main project but kept off the disc to ensure future revenue. As usual, if you have no interest in that side of gaming then there is nothing of interest or any intrinsic value to be looked forward to. God forbid that a piece of genuine single player content be released as DLC, oh dear no, that wouldn’t be cricket….. Or profitable,… Sorry, cost effective.

I am very dissapointed in the dlc for this game! Many gamers including myself want to do what Laura Croft does best, explore tombs, Ancient ruins, Krypts etc… Why is it every single time gamers voice what they want in a game or dlc they are simply brushed off and ignored? Gamers seem to like having the game developers decide what’s goning to be or not be in thier games! There is an old saying, (The customer is always right), and when it comes to giving the customer what they want,.. It’s 100% true. Doesn’t the same logic apply to gamers? It should shouldn’t it? Then why do I keep seeing game publishers and developers taking gamers money then when gamers ask for a certain dlc, ( tombs to explore in the case of tomb raider dlc), the game producers and developers simply ignore or shrug the gamer’s off! Why? Does anybody else out there see this as it is happening more and more as time goes on? This pattern of, well you gamers are stupid, just give us your money and take what we give you, is really starting to bug me! What about you? Maybe the only way us gamers can get some of the games/dlc we want is through kickstarter? If true, that’s pretty pathetic isn’t it? I’m just say’n.
