Sony unveils God of War: Ascensions co-op mode

Wednesday, 6th March 2013 18:22 GMT By Phil Owen

Ascension will feature a mode, called Trial of the Gods, in which you and a friend can team up to take on increasingly difficult waves of bad guys in a timed arena. Click through for a video.

Trial of the Gods will have you take on fifteen different types of baddies, including Satyrs, Cerberuses, Cyclops and even some creatures which have names that don’t begin with that “ess” sound. Each round is time-limited, and you gain time by killing enemies. The goal is to make it through five waves without time running out. Or dying. You don’t want to die. At the end of it all, you are treated to a big boss fight.

In case you’re wondering, you can also play this mode solo.

Wanna see Trial of the Gods in action? Here’s a video for you.

That doesn’t look bad but I still wish they had focused all their money and time on the best singleplayer experience they could instead of adding multiplayer and co-op.

@4 They have separate teams for the sp and mp portions of the game, so time isn’t really an issue. And I would say with a projec such as this, money isn’t either. I don’t imagine playing mp much but I give them kudos for trying. It might give them some very cool ideas for future projects.

Anyway, I wish they had taken this co-op thing further by also allowing you to create custom-challenges à la InFamous 2. Also hope you can play these challenges as Kratos when solo instead of having to use the mp avatar…

ok this is MORE like it!

i guess I might just keep the game instead of selling it after i finish co-op.

because the multiplayer was definitely NOT balanced and does not depend on skill rather than depend on customization sets.
Glad I can have fun with co-op
