Crytek CEO: Team Fortress 2 is "not quite free-to-play"

You can play Team Fortress 2 without paying any money, but will you be on an even keel with people who do drop some cash on better, crafted weapons than the free ones? Crytek's Cervat Yerli says no, and that TF2 is only "70 percent free-to-play."

"It's on the way to be there, it's a good model and it works for them, but there is still pay to win there and I don't like that," Yerli told PCGamesN.

“There's some great experiment there, with user-generated content, but you buy items. You have to buy items... A free to play game doesn't allow you to sell items. This is the issue I have with that. We would allow communities to create items for virtual currency, but you can't really go with commercial items because that's pay to win.”

Do you think user-generated items in TF2 should cost real money? Why or why not?
