Resident Evil 6 film in early stages at Sony Pictures, Screen Gems

Tuesday, 5th March 2013 14:57 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

A Resident Evil 6 film is in the early stages at Sony Pictures and Screen Gems, but at present, neither Milla Jovovich nor Paul W.S. Anderson have been confirmed. The last film in the series, Resident Evil: Retribution, grossed $221 million worldwide. The film is slated to hit theaters September 12, 2014, so there’s still quite a ways to go before it hits cinemas. Thanks, MCV.

As much as I hate the Anderson live action films, after recent games coming out, I think this film and Milla’s character within it are needed. The lesser of two evils.

This could be the closest game adaptation to date. I mean, RE6: The Game was already an action heavy mess so…

Jesus, Sony Pictures just really doesn’t let any franchise die…ugh. No idea how stupid teens everywhere still have the patience and money to go watch these flicks.

Lol, these movies are better scripted than anything Capcom ever pulled out their arse, so why they get slated is a bit rich.

Kudos for Anderson, he’s been able to turn some camp melodrama into the highest grossing videogame movie adaptation of all time.

I agree I hate this movie, but I am a Resident Evil fan and watch the movies. Be honest guys, bad ass effects, just shitty story lines. DO you all agree if it was better to do a reboot on the whole series, the right way this time? just curious what people what say.

@3: Who needs another bad Resident Evil movie, aside from Milla Jovovich?
