GameInformer teases next-gen cover reveal

GameInformer’s next cover will reveal a “next gen game”, Andy McNamara has teased on Twitter. The cover is to be announced tomorrow, and is it will be the game’s first proper media coverage, it won’t be Assassin’s Creed 4. There are so many suspected next-gen games on the cards that we’re probably just going to have to wait, but I’m taking short odds on Battlefield 4 and Thief 4.

That doesn’t mean much though. At one point Deus Ex Human Revolution was also numbered, i believe. Maybe it will become Thief, just like Tomb Raider and the many other games that were ‘rebooted’.

Also, i read that the developers of Thief last month said they would have an announcement to make soon.

I just hope it’s a NEW IP. We really need allot of new IP’s as these days are just reboots and sequel after sequel…

OK, just gonna throw this one out there; Whore of the Orient. Because if I’m not mistaken, it was Game Informer that did get the first hands-on coverage of the last game made by the same team working on it, L.A. Noire.

Thief ‘returns’, butthurtfield ‘concluson’, Halo ‘buttlove’. There is no way its HL3 because if it was I highly doubt gameinformer would be the people to blow the lid on the biggest bit of game news probably ever.

Also, Whore of the Orient sounds good. Does the scoring system revolve around combos, timings etc?

Some things here they forgot to mention:

Andy tweeted that it doesn’t have a 4 or IV in it and that the cover contains a bow as will the game.
