@2: Well, I don’t want realism per se, but this kinda breaks all suspension of disbelief. I guess we just have to wait and see how it turns out in the end.

Come on, this is a game about future dudes going back into memories of ancient dudes searching for MAGICAL artifacts from even more ancient dudes belonging to a dead society of gods. I think we can let the boat upgrade mechanic slide here

I do like the whole open sea exploration and pirates however
