Deus Ex: Human Defiance trademark is for the film based on Human Revolution

The Deus Ex: Human Defiance trademark which popped up earlier this week is, as suspected, for the movie based on the franchise and not a new game in the series. The correlation was figured out by Superannuation, after a domain registration filed by CBS Films popped up online. The movie will feature a cyberpunk setting according to filmmaker C. Robert Cargill, and is based on 2011′s Human Revolution.

It was the most likely reason, but I’m still disappointed. DXHR was one of the best games I’ve played in recent memory, I’m looking forward to more.
