Interested to see if Bethesda try to go with “Purchase and pay monthly to play” -model or make straight jump into F2P / Purchase2Play pool.

Hopefully they go the Rift route and have a sustainable subscription model that works…unlike every other MMO released in the last 3 years. F2P is garbage.

When it comes to MMO’s I prefer buy to play with purchasable addons for high end content that comes out once a month/2 months, then addons every year.

I don’t get it… why do people dislike pay2win (if reasonable) models? I really like World of Tank’s model by having premium tanks (they’re good overall for their tier, good money maker), premium ammo that just do more damage, and then premium time (more money/experience).

I mean, even if you pay for all the gold ammo and such, you can still lose matches.

@5 You’re always going to win a straight duel with premium ammo against a similar tank. It’s just that simple.

It undermines any sense of competition, and if you aren’t competing, there’s little reason to play online.

I thought the model they had during the beta, where everybody got a certain amount of gold every week was the way to go. That amount of gold wasn’t unlimited, but it was just enough to make it a fair fight.

In terms of offering premium tanks, it’s not entirely a dumb idea, but people are buying them in so many numbers that you often have entire games dominated by wallet warriors.

It just makes the game pretty boring, surely everybody wants to see different tanks?
