Wii Mini priced £79.99 at Amazon UK as pre-orders begin

Wii Mini was announced for a UK launch yesterday. Online retailer Amazon has priced Nintendo’s tiny console at £79.99, ahead of its March 22nd launch.

As you can see, Amazon is now taking orders on the console. Competitor GAME is also taking orders at £79.99.

ShopTo is also taking orders at £84.95.

When it was first unveiled last year, Nintendo stated that the Wii Mini would launch exclusively in Canada, before its about-face yesterday. The unit has no online functions.

Thanks Eurogamer.

Wow, even Tim Allen would be at a loss to cover that. You could buy a pre-owned non-deficient Wii for around half that, most likely. And you wouldn’t have to be concerned about being locked out of the online network, either lol

I’ve got a feeling Nintendo are just trying to get the Wii over the 100 million sales mark, hence this silly contraption.

The headline of their press release makes me chuckle:

“NINTENDO INTRODUCES NEW Wii MINI THAT’S ALL ABOUT THE GAMES”

Yeah it’s all about the games except for the hundreds of downloadable and Gamecube games eh?!
