Codemasters: PS4 easier to develop for than “tough” PS3
GRID 2 developer Codemasters has shed some light on its experience with PS4′s development architecture in a new interview.

Speaking with Edge, senior executive producer Clive Moody was asked to shed light on the differenced between PS4 and PS3 coding.
“The general consensus amongst our guys is the architecture is a little easier to get our heads around”, Moody replied. “It’s no secret that PS3 was tough, very, very, bespoke architecture.
“It was something that took us and a lot of developers a lot of time really to just understand how to squeeze the best out of it. I think from the off with PS4 architecture it’s going to be easier to get results.
“The last thing we want as developers is stuff in the way of producing and creating experiences so that’s a massive plus.”
Elsewhere in the article Moody confirms that GRID 2 is staunchly a current-gen title, so we probably won’t see it announced for PS4.
That said, would you like to see GRID 2 release on Sony’s new console as well? Let us know below.

Codemasters are not exactly known to get the most out of PS3 – actually most of their PS3 releases were a mess (poor framerate, tearing, juddering and other sloppy gitches). So I don’t have most respect for their technical expertise when comparing PS3 and PS4.

@2 But they just admitted that PS3 was a dog to code for, and that PS4 will be easier. Surely by that token their game will be miles better on PS4?
They should be able to do ace things on PS4

Where exactly are they going to be producing anything next gen from?
They just shedded a load of people up in Birmingham and Southam is working on current-gen. Everyone else is staffing up for next gen.
