Watch Dogs: Ubisoft "still investigating" Wii U but Game Pad a "natural fit"

The themes and mobile connectivity of Watch Dogs make it ideal for the Wii U, senior producer Dominic Guay believes.

"The connectivity between players with mobile devices, the way you can control the city, the immersion, all those are core and on any platforms we're going to ship on we're going to make sure we nail those pillars down," Guay told DigitalSpy.

"We're still investigating how we'll use the tablet on the Wii U, but with the things I mentioned before, for us it's not going to be a weird stretch. It's natural."

Guay said what he finds really cool about Watch Dogs is the devices protagonist Aiden Guy uses have real-world equivalents.

"It's not a weird abstraction, it's not like I'm a space alien and now I'm using a tablet. Why am I doing that?" he said.

"Aiden Pearce is using a device to control the city, so it's quite easy to imagine what we could do with that."

Ubisoft Bucharest is behind the Wii U version of the game, which is "already running" on the new console, Guay said. It's also expected on PC, Pl;ayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360, towards the end of the year.
