Watch Dogs built on all-new engine, doesn't share Assassin's Creed tech

Watch Dogs technical director Sebastian Viard took to Twitter today to explain that the open-world sci fi thriller uses a engine called Disrupt. The new engine was built at Ubisoft Montreal specifically for Watch Dogs, putting paid to assumptions that it utilises AnvilNext, the engine which powers Assassin's Creed 3. Watch Dogs is expected at the end of the year on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox 360.
