Guild Wars 2: PvP being patched today, paid tournaments are now free

Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet has outlined a big list of PvP changes in a new blog update this morning. The changes come as part of a new patch, which is rolling out today.

The post explains that the studio has scrapped paid tourneys and has now replaced them with free tournaments consisting of either one or three rounds.

Players who still have Tournament Tickets can cash them in for in-game currency at the new Ticket Merchant NPC, who can be found next to the Tournament Master in the Heart of the Mists.

There's a whole lot more, so be sure to check out the post for all the updates.

Meanwhile, I recently spoke with ArenaNet at length about what's happening later on this year in the world of Tyria. The big aim is to make more dynamic events and increase Guild Wars 2's focus on eSports. See what hey had to say about it all here.
