Disgaea developer Nippon Ichi was confirmed as a PS4 developer at Sony’s big reveal bash last week. The studio has said some very scant things about the platform, and PS Vita.
Speaking with Siliconera, Nippon Ichi president Sohei Niikawa discussed his team’s involvement in PS4 and its continuing support of PS Vita.
On the matter of PS4, he said, “It was announced yesterday that Nippon Ichi is one of the developers for it. We are thinking about titles right now.
“There are still things with the PS3 that haven’t done or been seen yet that we want to try. I also want to see what the PS4 is capable of and we’ll start thinking from there.”
On the studio’s response to Sony’s PS Vita price cut in Japan and the possibility of more Disgaea and other franchises on the handheld, he added, “We will definitely develop games for Vita in the future.
“Right now we are gauging the fan base’s needs about what kind of titles do they want for Vita. And base on that, looking at that, what kind of game that we come up with. We will most likely develop titles for it, based on that.”
