Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic writer quashes movie rumours

Former BioWare staffer and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic writer Drew Karpyshyn has dismissed rumours he's working on the script for a Lucasfilm adaptation of the classic RPG.

Ain't It Cool News broke the rumour over the weekend, but Karpyshyn got in touch to say he'd heard nothing about any such project.

Karpyshyn retired from the games industry in February last year, having worked on Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Baldur’s Gate and jade Empire in addition to the original KOTOR.

Since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm last year, there's been a near-ceaseless flood of rumours as to what's happening on both the game and film side of things; it seems like there are hundreds of pitches being tossed around. KOTOR 2 developer Obsidian is hoping to get in on the action, and Star Wars: 1313 is said to be progressing on schedule.
