PS4 pre-orders open at ShopTo: £399.95 price tag listed

PS4 was revealed last night at Sony’s ‘PlayStation Meeting’ event last night, but no mention was made of the console’s price. Online retailer ShopTo has started taking pre-orders on the console, with the preliminary price of £399.95.

Now, bear in mind that retailers often set guesswork prices when new consoles are revealed, but this could be on the ball. Decide for yourself over at their product page.

Over the weekend a source within Sony suggested that PS4 would launch at £300 here in the UK, which is a conflicting message.

What do you think?

Cheers @wotta.

Meh, viral marketing, they know every web is going to publish it and the brand ShopTo is spoiled for free.

Bullshit info, VG247 is fooled.

When you click through they explicitly state the price is essentially a placeholder. Covering bases, they have no info from Sony to base this on.

Be smart – you can get PS4 at zavvi.com for only £379.99, with savings of £220!!! Just use code ZV16127166 to get 5% OFF first purchase when opening a new account (works for EVERYTHING instore). After I’ve found out about it, I cancelled my amazon.co.uk preorder.
