PS Vita: no price cut for America, Sony confirms

PS Vita will not be receiving a price cut any time soon, Sony has confirmed.

Sony announced that it was cutting the price of its PS Vita handheld across Japan, during a webcast on Monday.

It sparked questions about similar cuts in the West, but Sony has stated that it's standing firm on the matter.

Joystiq asked SCEE president Shuhei Yoshida if the PS Vita would get a price cut in North America, to which he replied bluntly, "No, it's not."

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding PS4's pricing is growing. Michael Pachter and his colleagues at Wedbush Morgan have predicted that the console will launch somewhere in the $399-$449 price range, while UK retailer ShopTo is taking PS4 pre-orders now, with an expected price-tag of £399.95.
