PS4: every rumour ahead of tonight's reveal, right here

PS4 is rumoured for a big reveal at Sony's PlayStation meeting event tonight, and you can watch it live here on VG247. To keep track of the rumour mill's madness so far, I've compiled all of the big game and hardware rumours so far into a handy little crash course on the matter.

The PlayStation Meeting event kicks off on February 20th at 6pm EST and Sony has been reminding us of the fact by sending us a few email alerts. It seems that something big is indeed about to go down next week.

PS4 connects with mobile devices, requires subscription – rumour

Word has it that PS4 will sync up with mobile devices, and let people play from their console, with others playing the same game on mobile. Don't fear it, this is the future. The downside is that the console may require a subscription fee like Xbox Live.

Sony registers domains for PlayStation Cloud

This happened. It's potentially massive, and could signify that PS4 will include Gaikai streaming tech out of the box, letting players enjoy games in the same way they would stream movies from Netflix. However, word on the street is that the console will not be backwards-compatible, and the only way to play PS3 games will be through Gaikai.

PS4 – another report claims the console will use Gaikai to stream games

The WSJ is reporting that PS4 will use Gaikai to stream games specifically for “current PlayStation 3 titles” on the new console, but will also using traditional disc-based methods to play games. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this, as you will note below. According to sources speaking with the news outlet, Sony will unveil the new tech next week along with “higher fidelity cameras” for Move and a touch-pad on the new controller. WSJ notes it’s unsure how Sony will charge for the service, but it will make titles less easy to share or resell, obviously. Sony spent $380 million on its acquisition of the Gaikai service, so it will need to recoup those costs somehow.

PS4 controller screenshot appears online – rumor

Last night, a photo appeared of what looks like a prototype PS4 controller and a console dev kit. The pad features the often-rumoured front touch pad, and a glowing Move sensor on the top. Microsoft exec cautions Sony over next week’s “important” PS4 reveal

Microsoft exec Jon Grimes said in an interview that the PS4 reveal would be important for the industry, due to it stagnating a little, but warned that Sony risks alienating the mass market by going for a hardcore reveal. What do you make of that then?

Guerllia Games is billed to reveal Killzone 4 at next week's event in New York. The title is said to be a launch window release. Whatever the case, their game will surely push visual boundaries on consoles.

PS4 out in 2013, uses Gaikai tech, $400+ – JP reports

Rumour has it that Ivory Tower - a new studio made up of ex-Eden Games staff - is making a PS4 racing game. it's said to be a spiritual successor to Test Drive Unlimited.

PS4 – rumored kits have new controller, 4x Dual-Core CPU

A 90-page PDF document surfaced that allegedly revealed a lot of PS4 information, including specs of its 4x dual-core processor. The document is said to have been given out with PS4 dev-kits.

Quantic Dream domain registration suggests a PS4 title is in the works

It hasn't released Beyond: Two Souls yet, but Quantic Dream has registered a domain name for something called 'Singularity', and has linked it to PS4. What could it be?

Here it is, the biggie. VG247's sources blew the doors of PS4 development in this article, revealing that Sony has used AMD 10 as its base, and that dev-kits are with studios. This was a while ago, but its rammed full of CPU details.
