A new roguelike tactical game has emerged on Kickstarter

A man from Texas named Tom Johnson is making a game called Enemy, and he is crowdfunding it on Kickstarter.

What is Enemy? It is an old-style turn-based tactical role-playing game. The Kickstarter tagline for it is: "The video games you played as a kid, mashed together and remade into a tactical roguelike." Sounds intriguing, eh?

The hook for Enemy is that the entire game is procedurally generated, and not just the environments. Even the actual plot you experience will be unique to each playthrough of the game. As the Kickstarter page says, "In one play-through, you might rescue the King of Dreams from the captain of the space pirates. In the next, you might avenge your fallen father by defeating a resurrected Dracula."

Combat is inspired by the original Xcom, and so if you've been brushing up on your tactical skills with Enemy Unknown for the past few months, then you should be adequately prepared for Enemy.

The goal for the Kickstarter is a mere $15,000, and it has earned $7,816 as of the moment this post was published. For more on the game, be sure to check out the Kickstarter page for the game. Now, here's a video for you on Enemy featuring Monsieur Johnson himself.
