Skylanders: Swap Force requires new Portal of Power to play

Skylanders: Swap Force will require a new, advanced Portal of Power peripheral to play, Activison has confirmed.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg confirmed the requirement in an interview with Family Gamer, but added that previous Skylanders toys will be compatible with the new Portal device.

The Portal will be bundled with the Skylanders: Swap Force starter pack, which launches alongside the game in the Autumn.

Skylander: Swap Force was announced at the start of February, and it was confirmed that players will be able to mix and match parts of their figurines, offering some 256 combinations.
