Aliens: Crucible gameplay footage turned up - rumour

Aliens: Crucible was in development at Obsidian Entertainment in 2008 and 2009, but was shelved before it saw the light of day. A thirteen minute gameplay video purporting to showcase the cancelled project shows a third-person shooter with sassy AI companions.

The video comes courtesy of Unseen64, which specialises in leaks of unreleased titles. The site claims the footage is from an unfinished, in-development build.

A brief animation reel for the title turned up this week and bears some similarities.

Obsidian went on to produce modern day espionage RPG Alpha Protocol before returning to other company's franchises with Fallout: New Vegas and Dungeon Siege 3.
