US PS Plus update adds Vanquish to Instant Collection
This week, US subscribers to PlayStation Plus will receive Platinum Games’ amazing shooter Vanquish for their Instant Collection. The notoriously fast-paced and difficult shooter is not for the faint-hearted but well worth the investment. PSP and Vita title Mega Man Maverick Hunter X will also be made available for free, as will a Starter Pack for DUST 514, the EVE Online tie-in MMOFPS. Members are also offered 20% off Urban Trial Freestyle on PlayStation 3 and Vita, although notably, it does not support cross-buy. Visit the PlayStation Blog for more details.

Great, been meaning to play it for awhile now anyhow. A moment where I’m glad I bought a Plus subscription.

I’d say it’s the best 3rd person shooter this generation, hands down. Excellent move on Platinum Games part because for millions of people, this will be their first time playing a game made by Platinum. Then after they’re blown away, they’d be more interested in purchasing MGRising Revengeance which is also out tomorrow. Smart move

@3 the EU arm doesn’t give a heads up on Plus content until update day, unfortunately.

@Brenna and 3,
And IGC updates only happen once a month, around 20th of each month.

Bayonetta2 on PS4.
Sony wouldn’t support Sega/Platinum so much without having Bayo2 in the bag.
My take, Bayo2 was being developed for PS3/360 but was too ambitious, so Nintendo grabbed the timed exclusivity for the WiiU and the game will be released as a launch title for PS4/NextBox.

I think they were asking about regular PSN updates. The majority of PS+ updates on the EU store happen on the first Wednesday of the month (e.g. it was the 6th of February). Vita PS+ stuff is a bit more spread out and you get occasional bonus content in the middle.

@10,
Yeah, but the details are generally given around 20th, and sales and other stuff is spread out.

Ah yeah see what you mean, what’s coming is normally a week or so in advance. Last one was fairly late (28th Jan in prep for 6th Feb update).
