John Romero in negotiations with Square Enix - rumour

Former id Software star John Romero has set NeoGAF abuzz by allegedly tagging himself at Square Enix' Californian offices with the words "now let's get a deal done". There are a couple of theories as to what the mysterious message could mean; Romero's social gaming company, Loot Drop, could be a good fit for Square Enix's mobile gaming push, but the publisher also owns the rights to Eidos-published properties from Romero's former studio, Ion Storm. Although Thief and Deus Ex have lived on, a couple of others have been overlooked: the notorious Daikatana and Anachronox. Speculate at will.
