Star Wars tech demo shows a fighting game intended for original Xbox

Here’s something you may not have known about: a Star Wars fighting game was in development for the original Xbox at Studio Gigante. Footage of its tech demo was posted online by Robomodo president and co-founder Josh Tsui, and it shows a fight between Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker. The game was being pitched to publishers when Studio Gigante was closed in 2005. Thanks, Polygon.

Meh. We need a Bushido Blade like Star Wars fighting game.

Looks awful but its interesting how the majority of the damage came from physical attacks rather than being sliced by the lightsaber.

Ex-Mortal Kombat staff-member makes game akin to MK4, different franchise. It doesn’t look bad for a potential sequel to PS1′s Masters of Teras Kasi.

@4, I had Masters of Teras Kasi, if I hadn’t been a massive Star Wars fag at the time I’d probably have dropped that game after one shot.

About the best thing about it was the fact that the Tuskin Raider was named “Hoar” and the announcer pronounced it “whore” which made teenage me smirk.
