The latest update on Mew-Genics introduces D. Claude, a cat with “whiskers like spaghetti, fur just like a yeti” and myriad other complaints. Or possibly boasts. Who can tell?

D. Claude was revealed on the Team Meat blog, flagging a new track from the soundtrack, The Ballad Of D. Claude.

The track is available to stream on BandCamp, where you can also purchase it for whatever price you deem fair. The lyrics are well worth a scan if you’re keen for more hints as to what this mysterious game will actually involve.

The soundtrack to Mew-Genics comes courtesy of Ridiculon; it’s the first project from the newly-formed duo, John Evans and Matthias Bossi. We’ve already heard the opening title and a few more snippets.

This latest update is the second-to-last before Mew-Genics is finally revealed. You can see the full rundown so far in our Mew-Genics tag, but in short, it seems to be a game about breeding cats for fights and pageants, with a huge variety of random outcomes. It’s coming to Steam and iPad at the very least, and Team Meat is so enamoured of it that it halted development of a new version of Super Meat Boy.

Still bummed about the lack of Danny B :( His work in Isaac and SMB was phenomenal.
Not sure about Ridiculon but kinda like this track.

@1 I’m there with you. I’ve gotten really into videogame music over the last couple of years. I actually bought a signed version of Danny B’s Nice to Meat You. That being said, I think the theme to Mewgenics is cool

World of Goo is great too, and the soundtrack is free. Along with that for Little Inferno.

If you haven’t already, check out the music for Krater as well. Amazing stuff.
