Steam profile privacy issues discovered, corrected
Valve has tweaked Steam’s profile pages to plug a privacy leak after Ars Technica discovered a couple of URL manipulation techniques to expose profile data which should be private. The site flagged them with Valve immediately, and the hole has since been plugged, but if you’re interested, check out the full report on the problem and how Ars discovered it.
Thanks, VentureBeat.

Well that’s dumb. At least it was only game data and not personal data.

There are tons of privacy issues with Steam profiles. Go into private mode (including disabling cloud sync), and as soon as you exit Steam your “last online” timer will be reset to 0.
