North Korean Modern Warfare 3 propaganda film pulled by Activision

North Korean propaganda network Uriminzokkiri published a troubling film earlier this week - see our report here - that included scenes of New York City in Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The scenes were believed to foretell an attack on America. The publisher has now pulled the movie from YouTube.

The BBC reports that the film did indeed show a young man sleeping while dreaming of a new world established by a unified Korea.

It comes weeks before North Korea is due to carry out a nuclear test, sparking fears over the nation's intent. However, North Korea officials state that the country's space programme is intended for peaceful purposes only.

The clip in question saw New York City in flames, via footage taken from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - without publisher Activison's permission.

The accompanying text reads "Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing. It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself."

It paints a troubling picture, and as a result the footage has now been pulled from YouTube at Activision's request.
