More Assassin's Creed and Far Cry coming in the near future, says Ubisoft

The next game in the Assassin's Creed franchise will feature a new setting and character, Ubisoft announced during its quarterly financial call to investors today.

The title is set for release during the firm's FY14, meaning it is slated for release sometime before March 2014.

"We are delighted and proud to announce today that in FY14 14, we will introduce an all-new Assassin's Creed hero, within an all new team and time period," said company CEO Yves Guillemot. "We expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise.

"It is the benefit of multiple teams working on multiple chapters of the product, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin's Creed game."

Guillemot also told investors that "fans certainly won't have to wait four more years for the next Far Cry," as the third entry in the series performed "way better than expected," with its 4.5 million copies shipped.

Ubisoft announced today that total revenue for the firm was up 23% to €802 million for the period, and online revenue was up 143% to €55.2 million.

Big-sellers for the firm along with the aforementioned Far Cry 3 were Assassin’s Creed 3 with 12 million shipped, and Just Dance 4 with 8 million shipped and Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation sales hitting close to 600,000.
